Maria I started Maria Louisa Dolls to express and share my love of fashion design and costume design.

I have formal training in basic sewing techniques from when I was at college or high school. The rest has been from reading from books and many hours of playing around with fabric, probably ever since I was sewing from at a young age at my mother's sewing machine. I have also been creating historical costumes and modern fashions for dolls for the last few years.

With the discovery of Volks Super Dollfie I have really enjoyed putting together clothes for such a lovely doll. For a fashion doll I feel that she has lovely proportions and detail - a real healthy looking figure. I also like that you can change aspects of the doll’s appearance. I've really enjoyed playing with my designs and watching an outfit come together, for me it is like watching an outfit coming to life as it brings real personality to the doll.

The Doll
At present I am working from one doll. I definitely plan to expand my doll resources by buying similar shaped dolls to check for fitting considerations.

Claudia This particular doll is called a Super Dollfie Standand or SD10. You can buy this model and ones like her from an online company called Volks, which is based in Japan. If you are interested in owning a doll like her it is good to know that you can change the colour of her eyes, and body parts. The doll is dressed with wigs rather than set-in hair, making even easier to individualise your doll. Many people also work on the make up, and create body piercing. You’re only limited by your imagination with these dolls.

This particular dollfie model is 55.5cm or 22 inches in height and has a 24cm head. The doll comes with a pair of knickers (panties) and a slip.

The Clothes
When creating a new outfit I put a lot of consideration into the outfit when it comes to scale. High quality fabrics are used for each item. This is done to use fabrics with a high thread count as the clothes do get a work out when you are dressing your doll. Each piece is made to a high standard. Each piece is fitted on the doll to check for any fitting issues before being packaged up and sent off. All Limited Edition outfits come with a certificate of authenticity.
